Freshman Year
At 8:40 a.m., I open the doors to a building full of inspiration,
Oceans of adolescents come here to achieve, and learn to swim
They are leaders, introducing new innovations,
Looking around at freshman year of myself,
Animated within the peeling walls,
I hear the laughter of my friends themselves,
We are all true to each other,
With genius teachers wanting us to succeed,
And motivating us to go further
Homework is a war-zone,
I fight like a soldier to return victoriously
Yet I still have more which makes me groan
However, I run extra miles
Learning from time to time
Savoring the knowledge with smiles
Sports and clubs have been my mentors,
They are the secrets of perpetual youth,
And the paths for being at the success door
High school has helped me take time to read,
It is the source of power,
It is the first step to lead
I am very excited
In a community, creating the future,
there are many adventures awaited
