The Sea of Broken Pieces MAG
I was enchanted by your words,
shores of wasted knowledge washing over me,
water settling in the every crack of my bones
I surrendered myself
To the seemingly endless fountain of brilliance
In the desperate hope that a drop of water,
in innocence,
would fall upon my skin
and heal the scars you’d left me with
I split myself in two,
a lung for each side
and half a beating heart
One side for the keeping,
And another for you
The problem was, I found,
That once you were done with me,
I could no longer be whole again.
