Old vs New
Is there really a measured amount of time before you can say the big three words?
Or before you can be sure what you feel is true?
The olden way was much easier; young and in love equaled a successful marriage.
Now young and in love equals stupid and a disaster waiting to happen.
What happened to being true?
When I love you meant you're the only one I can't live without
There was no checking each other's phone to see who they talked to
BAE didn't exist, only your significant other
Trust issues tear each other apart
for we are in constant fear
they are not satisfied
Every week someone new is over because the last one
liked you too much
We are scared to talk about the future
because we have been wired
to count on people leaving
Instead of being with someone and fighting for a future
we leave a gap
big enough to squeeze through for an emergency get away
