I Am A Girl
baby come back,
don’t leave again,
i know she’s pretty and all,
but baby why can’t you see?
you are my world,
before you came into my life,
i was just a girl trying to find her way,
loyalty and respect were the main categories i focused on when i was 15,
i only was able to grow up before most girls my age,
here is why,
baby i have been bullied,
betrayed,
and lied to,
injuries like those,
even though not visible,
still scar the heart,
their should be a casket,
for broken hearts,
our exes scribble on,
they treat us like we are nothing,
well baby I am far from nothing,
many labels have been given to me,
such as,
anorexic,
anxious freak,
ugly,
fat,
gross,
shy,
pretty,
wise,
creative,
alcoholic,
writer,
inspiring,
caring,
kind,
beautiful,
I have been called and known for these things many times,
although some may be true,
and some may be false depending on who you look for an opinion from,
i am a girl,
thats whats i am,
just a regular old girl trying to find her way,
this is my story,
remember me however you want when i last no more,
all that matters is how i see myself,
and baby i see myself as a girl.
