Where I'm From: Love
I am from travel, from SouthWest Airlines and stale petzels.
I am from the family signed up for Segway tours,
From the dorky, poanch wearing, tourist parents...
that I love.
I am from the lame tour guides,
the tired, sweaty feet
and the girl stopping to take hundreds of pictures.
I am from Christmas at grandma’s and hectic celebrations. Laugher and three different conversations fill the dining room.
From Dad’s size 13 shoes stepping in the pumpkin pie…
that I love.
I am from the fire in our home
and the smelly, yellow house we temporarily
lived in.
I am from the hairy, dog filled bed, packed full like
John Denver sings in “Grandma’s Feather Bed.”
From Nashotah Park walks on summer days…
that I love.
