An Ode to the Newly Forgotten
Here’s to those who are left behind,
Sterling ambition yet to shine,
A shadow cast over such
By whom they are forgotten.
And during this falling grace,
The forgetters turn to primary case
Of when the lost were common.
But to do this is to hide from today.
And the forgetters fear when lost will stray
To find claim in their serious abandon.
They will tear the shadow’s seams laden
They become casters themselves,
And the forgetters will be merely forgotten.
