The Ocean Blues
I opened my eyes
To find myself alone
In this wide ocean
Which seemed so lonely
The ocean
Seemed to understand
What it felt like to be
Left behind
The icy waves
Erased my steps
As if I was
Never there
The sun
Was setting
And only darkness
Accompanied me
The sand
Was rough
Bruising my
Bare feet
The houses
Back on shore
Looked so small
And dull
All of this
Was devastating
I wanted to comfort
This wide ocean
I opened
My arms
As if to say
I’m here
And when
I opened my eyes
To find myself alone
In this wide ocean
Which had seemed so lonely
The ocean
Seemed to understand
That he was filled
With life
The icy waves
Were erasing
My steps for a
New beginning
The sun
Would show itself
Bringing back the light
Very slowly
The sand
Felt softer
Hugging my
Bare feet
The houses
Back on shore
Would be filled with
Children soon
All of this
Was joyful
I wanted to hug
This wide ocean
I opened
My arms
As if to say
I’m here
