I am a child
She is awoken by the gentle voice of her mother.
She has her lunch made for her.
She takes a minute to dance outside and feel the fresh air before her day.
She yells passionately so people can hear the meaning behind her words.
She laughs at most things just to smile.
She will do anything to make others laugh by going that extra mile.
She feels her emotions change like a wave crash.
She cries but forgives in a flash.
She will never intentionally hurt her parents.
She never hesitates when offered guidance.
She watches the stars with a curiosity of what could be.
She wonders what she has yet to see.
I miss my alarm so I am awoken by my mother's alarming reminder
I grab my lunch out of the fridge just like her.
I feel the slight morning breeze for a glorious moment before getting into my car.
I use strength in my words, so people feel the words I have to say.
I laugh loud to feel the vibrations of happiness through my body.
I will do anything to make others smile just like she.
I slam my door and cry in my room.
I wonder what made me so angry the next day, hormones I assume.
I hurt my parents, but promise I didn’t mean to.
I listen and yell with words of care when we argue.
I lay on my deck under the light of the stars still wondering if there is an elsewhere.
I wonder if one day I could be there.
