Habits Help Us Think
One taps the foot,
The others spins the chair,
While all this happening
She runs her hands through her hair,
He picks up his pen & doodles designs across the floor
The teacher is up by the whiteboard,
The children are yearning
For their valued learning saying
Please, please teach us more
Class time is when we develop habits
Like tapping our foot like a white rabbit’s
Or running our hands through our hair
For we are too invested to even care
About judgemental people
Who think they are high and mighty
Like a church steeple
Kids like us with ADHD
Will surely earn the highest degree
We love our habits because our habits help us think
Since we are all children some big and tall,
But some very, very small
We all have our habits,
That’s how we are unique
Because our habits help us think

I want people to realize that no matter what others say, all our little things make us unique.
