Together
We sat in the car that day
talking about life and love and death
and everywhere in between
we brought ourselves down to our knees
and prayed to the universe
to help us find our purpose
we laughed until we cried great rivers
sadness leaking out with the happiness
for there was a constant despair on our minds
we gazed in wonder at the stars
feeling as insignificant as toys left broken by the side of the road
But we were together
and that's what mattered.
