Buttoning
I am young and able
To live and be free.
I can run and jump across
Chasms of debt and stress
But as i get older and closer to death
I realize i have been dead for years.
Born, or made,
To feel like i am disconnected,
Unplugged from whats real,
And what's stuck in my nightmares.
Those who are feet from death
Compared to me miles from the goal,
Assume i am okay.
But i am empty
In a time when i should feel full.
