LIfe as I see it
Summer controls my fate,
at 10 years, Grandpa died, shouldn't surprise,
BET and cars, where I come from,
Hartbrook Cafe, day after day,
walking Holly, enjoy the sun,
getting older, better get mine.
Swimming games, soccer games,
friends from days forgotten,
baby boy, a gift from God.
Sisters pushed many,
love the family with my life,
no hate in heart, can't survive.
Camping trips last days,
responsibilities chasing me,
Earth, crashing my waves,
love suffocates my brain,
troubled years destroy my chromosomes,
bounce back, a wrecking ball, on a loose chain.
New me arises the rubble,
where I come from, love lost,
on one side, see the pain,
begin the cycle over again,
in my DNA, I could say.
Not the person I am anyway.
