Where I'm From
I am from sorrow and devastation–
sobbing from the loss of my grandpa and in shock after my uncle passed.
Strength from hardship...
I am from gratitude and appreciation–
a car, house, and cooked meals given to me.
Humbled by luxury...
I am from family and joy–
loving parents and a brother along with a cat and dog who are brother and sister.
Loyalty goes both ways...
I am from memories and laughter–
travelling on car rides across the country full of fast food stops and jokes about RVs.
Enjoy the past and present...
I am from motivation and determination–
grandparents who fled war torn Europe and summer days in factories for 20 years.
Perseverance brings strength...
I am from pride and freedom–
removing my hat for the anthem and standing during the pledge.
Honor the fallen.
