Where I'm From
I am from a place that is dark and scary,
A place where nightmares are reality.
I am from a time of abandonment and rejection,
To a place of pure unacceptance.
I am from a family that’s torn and scarred,
Yet it is still taught to care for others.
I am from a family where I have no mother,
And a place where all I ever needed was my father.
I am from a place where the saying there is no turning back has become a lifestyle,
To a place where if you just keep moving you’ll soon come to a better place.
I am from an enclosed group who I consider family,
And they consider me a part of humanity.
I am from a place where it was rough just getting by
To a place where we do just fine.
