We're “best friends”, you tell me
The sweetest lie like candy
In the hands of a kidnapper
We're “closer than anyone”, you tell me
I'll never know
What you gained from this
We'll “always be friends”, you tell me
Words so bitter now
They give me trust issues
So I tell you,
“Friends” don't leave friends
When they need them the most
“Friends” don't abandon friends
With nowhere to go
“Friends” don't lie to friends
About how they feel
And “friends” lift you up
Not pull you down.
