Burial
She stood in the middle of the dense green forest
Surrounded by her family, each of them sullen.
With every scoop of dirt her spirits fall,
Saying gut wrenching goodbye.
FInally six feet down, they lower their friend.
The wind stirs the dead leaves around them,
Her only consolation is that maybe,
The breeze is her dearest friend’s spirit,
Gently kissing her cheek one more time.
