Our Final Goodbye
A cascade of white cradling your passion
All of our hearts cave from the outside in
This is our goodbye.
My body feels empty
My soul runs dry
It’s July 11th
Your eleventh day spent in holy heaven
Whispers are briskly filling the air
Being closely followed by cries of despair
It is a beautiful day for celebrating you
If you were here you’d think so too
The minister’s words hurt I can barely listen
As he mentions where you’re going with the spirit, father, and son
The sun’s rays upon your eternal home are glistening
The bitterness of my tears is overwhelming
The lowering will now begin
My eyes fill up with tears again
Down
Down
Down
You are now six feet in the ground
Gone
You’re really gone
I say I love you and goodbye
Mournfully knowing I’ll receive no reply
