HERITAGE
From my mother,
Light brown eyes
That shimmer like water on a warm day;
Thick, long hair which looks
Like melted milk chocolate.
From my father,
I got a skin tone that looks
Like a vanilla coffee color with a hint of mocha
I tend to be patient like my mother
I do get mad at points and as a result
My ears start to get red just like when
Your blood circulates through your ears
And they get red as a ripe apple
I start to get irritated easily and isolate myself
My grandma a thin light skinned women
I inherited the curiosity I have
I always want to know when, where
An incident has occurred
My family I inherited the mexican characteristics
And the security I have and my proud feeling
Of being a part of my Mexican hometown
