The Darkness
gripping with my hands
a cold stainless steel bar
feeling the adrenalin rush in my body
as I lifted the weight from the floor
feeling the pain in my shoulders
from doing squats
but focusing on my potential
realizing I can do more
picking up a book for the first time
learning that reading is fun
holding new ideas
to create new plots
drawing with a pen
full of boredom and dissatisfaction
doodling away
then forgetting what they meant
writing with new pencils
to get new inspiration
for the blank paper
that haunts me in my dreams
touching my the scars of yesterday
ready for the future
to bring luck to the gold coin
to help me sleep a peaceful night
typing on the laptop
to get educated for success
clicking the mouse
to fix the mistakes I’ve made
