The Wild Right Out My Doors
I glimpse out the window
and a whole world is seen.
Deer leap through the field
while birds peck at seeds.
When the sun goes down
coyotes begin to prowl.
They are on the hunt
for the local farmer’s fowl.
The bushes rustle as I come near
from all the chipmunks running in fear.
Birds sing harmonious songs
as they glide through the air.
Hawks screech from the trees
searching for prey below.
Wolves howl in unison
hours before the first light.
Sounds of snarls echo
from their first fight.
The wild is all around
from the sights to the sound.
One step out your door
and nature will astound.
