Waiting
Tick Tock.
anxiety and fear.
Pummels, crashes into me like a hurricane.
Wind that befalls me, overpowering.
Raindrops on my forehead, the minutes that feel like hours.
Tap Tap.
My brothers nervous foot on the floor, the thunder of drums pound,
Echoing throughout the room like my constant paranoia.
I plummet down, down,
down.
Breathe in, breathe out.
Shaky like my fingers against the tan sofa, wondering if it’s okay.
Waiting.
It’ll be fine, they say.
Your dad is tough, they say.
