Late Again

Late again I am,

Still the sound of the clock in my ears,

“Tic toc, wake up.”

As time goes by,

I wonder how and why?

So compelled to finishing the task,

I forget the most important things,

Friends,

Family,

Sometimes even my life.

To them I am a screw up,

A loose cannon,

To not the light at the end of the tunnel,

Constantly needing to be strapped down.

Late again I am,

Unable to complete a task set before me,

Always letting people down.

Late again I am,

Not trusted with a simple task,

a raging bull,

Seeing only red.

Late again I am,

To speak the words of forgiveness,

To listen to the voice of compassion,

To hear the sound of confusion.

Late again I am,

To destroy my fears,

to control my own destiny,

To look into the eyes of life and say “I am not afraid.”

Late again I am,

To change sides,

Have fairness in life.

To see it and to feel it

To say I am sorry to all I had wronged,

And to have a moment of forgiveness.

Late again I am,

May we see each other again.

To share and understand each other better throughout life.

I love you, Simon.
