I Want Rainbows in My Hairdo
I want rainbows in my hair.
I want people to see what I see,
to see the colors in everything.
I want starcrossed lovers,
to get out from under the covers,
rediscovering what it means to sing.
I know the world’s messed up,
and we're kinda out of luck
but, hey, why can’t we try anything?
I wanna walk down the street
with hand in hand,
look down to see his wedding band.
I know the world’s messed up,
but we kinda got some luck
and, hey, at least we tried something.
I want rainbows in my hair.
I want you to see them too,
but you can’t,
‘cause you’re always staring at her.
Whenever I catch your eye,
it makes me wanna die, inside,
but, I know, deep down,
that you won’t ever love me.
I know my life’s messed up,
and it’s kinda rough
but, hey, at least I get to see you.
‘Cause whenever I do,
I know it’s true.
I see the rainbows in everything.
