How Friends Fade
The seven of us got together
In the ninth grade
We could never be apart
We laughed, talked, and enjoyed time with each other
Late night texts and calls
We were always there for one another
I paired off with seven
A bad mistake on my part
We were together for six months,
Then seven flipped the switch on me
Tenth grade was a new year for the group
And it started out the same
Late night texts and calls became few and far between
All seven of us were together at first
But then the tensions came
My ex decided we weren’t for him
And he couldn’t stand to see me
He left the group in an angry manner
Leaving all of us hurt and confused
Now there are only six of the seven
Six never sits with us
And we feel ignored
Even though she is still a friend to us
We don’t know if we can take her word
Now there are only five
Five left us
To chase number six
Because she is the girl he loves
It is hard to say if he will get her
Because the only thing he has gotten from her is rejection
Now there are only four
Three and Four got in a relationship
And everything was great at first
But after a month Four realized that he had never liked Three
Then Three and Four split
One, Two, Three, Four
We are the only ones left
Even though they split,
Three and four never left
As a result of this,
One and two always felt tensions
Because the group wasn’t the same
We are holding on for dear life
We don’t want this to end
What happened to ninth grade?
The year we were never apart.
Now we see that love is a dangerous game
One that we all must play
Friends,Family, Lovers,
It happens everyday
Once those bonds of love are broken,
They can never be the same.
