Absence
To live a quiet life among the countryside;
I should not wish for anything more pleasant
than such simplicity and quaintness--
Anything more extravagant, that is,
than to pass with seclusion, without thought of
Perhaps, and if, and maybe
But perhaps:
A life of concrete could not be less or more selfish;
To live in the world of the unfocused,
To be able to walk after sunset in the comfort
Of the streetlamps and the fear only of our likeness
And maybe:
To be in any body but my own should suffice;
To live a thousand lives imagined in my longing
And then, really, none.
