Dawn of a New Day
I feel the warm beating rays
On my freshly washed face.
It feels like a bunch of tiny, purple
fairies dancing on my clean skin.
Raspberry red, pumpkin orange, sunflower yellow
Colors illuminating the dark, motionless skies.
It’s the dawn of a new day and
It welcomes me like a long lost friend
I can smell green apples
hanging on the tired old branches.
My soul filled with happiness like
I just got a new yellow lab puppy.
Goodbye sweet disarray of colors.
I can hear the calming sound of
My heart and all the animals around me.
Until the next morning with new colors and sounds.
