They ask for help, they do
“I want to kill myself,”
means help
so does
”I will burn this school,”
so does
“I hate everything,”
so does
SILENCE
So does all those little things
that will make you angry when it’s done
angry at me,
at the world,
at yourself.
Scars,
long bathroom breaks,
a drop in grades.
Can you here me screaming?
Our society fetishizes mental cases -
detectives with OCD,
depressed geniuses -
So why do we ignore them?
Why do we pretend the monsters don’t exist,
when they’re tearing apart our children,
friends,
students,
parents...
”I’m going to kill myself,”
means help,
no matter who it is.
No grades ensure a working brain.
No life makes you immune.
In ten years what do you want to say?
“I didn’t save you when I could;
I looked the other way,”
or
“I did everything in my will
and - thank god - you’re still here,”
