Where I’m From
I’m from swimming in Moose lake,
the smooth sand grasping my feet,
From tumbling off the tube when me and DJ went tubing,
the soaring sun giving a tan,
From the emptiness in my stomach waiting for Disney World anxiously
waking up in the morning waiting for the smell of the airport.
I’m from Walt Disney’s theme park Magic Kingdom,
the waits for Splash Mountain,
From walking in Epcot eating funnel cakes,
lovingly being carried because my legs were tired,
From being spoiled by Kayla and Josh,
making cookies where I had to eat a five layered frosted cookie that would make your stomach feel sick after eating it
From hearing the famous line by my family “Don’t be a bum,”
working during the months for football.
I’m from the football field,
turf waiting to be played on,
From the ref blowing the first whistle like an alarm going off,
to waking up in Camp Randall with the fluffy snowflakes falling.
I’m from going to the greatest school in Wisconsin,
having teachers that care about students,
From Western Civ with Frank Taylor,
to messing around with Mrs. Schwartz,
To not looking forward to when I graduate.
