The In Between
Everything changes in time.
Greens meet rusty hues.
Still life becomes exposed,
Down to barren bones.
Long, lanky limbs cut darkness into navy dusk,
Soft fields morphe to solid ground.
Welcoming air turns bitter,
An attack on heated flesh.
The Earth’s breath bites as you watch the world goes dark.
No white has fallen,
Leaving spirits low.
In hope that someday soon,
There will be snow.
