Home.
Even thousands of miles away
I can feel the California sun beating down on me.
Sure, I go back every summer,
but it’s not the same.
I want to live in the state I love so much,
to endure hours of traffic but have it all be worth it.
I want to see the mountains outlined in the smog,
the skyscrapers reaching toward the heavens.
I want to watch the orange sun set
on the Pacific Ocean,
And know that I am home.
