Ticking Time
I used to like listening to the ticking of the clock.
It had such a great rhythm
that did not bother me.
These days, each tick of the clock
reminds me that time is passing on
quicker and quicker.
Each minute, each second counts
and work needs to get done before the deadline
creeps up on me.
A day seemed incredibly long and slowed down
when I simply could play.
The time was not something on my mind.
I used to like the sound of the clock, but now
time has changed and new priorities have taken over.
Time was slow then, it flies today.
