Into the Wind
The curious, little girl loved to play outside
in the warm air of June.
Sunshine beamed on her delicate skin as she sat
in dewy, green grass picking handfuls of daisies for her collection.
Upon her graceful search for flowers, she stumbled
in her track, reaching for a lone dandelion
standing incredibly tall in its stature.
A perfect sphere of white fuzziness
had not faded away
and the slightly blowing gusts remained
a constant threat to its immaculate shape.
The eager child grasped the single dandelion
by its long stem and tore it out of the ground.
The lovely, fluffy puffs of the dandelion
infatuated her, but she had an ingrained urge
to blow its dainty hair into the air.
Whoosh.
This dandelion became a thing of the past
and its hair blew many miles away.
And the girl --
she grew uninterested.
