Seasons of Life
We enter life like naive seeds implanted
in nourished soil during the spring.
Commencing a new journey when the skies are bright
and painted beautifully blue.
Colorful wildflowers blooming, birds cheerfully
chirping to their own melodies, and trees
budding in the lush season as we
thrive amongst it all.
As summer quickly rolls around the corner,
we mature as the blissful air of spring becomes
humid and tropical.
We find ourselves sun-drenched
in flip-flops and swimsuits, ignoring the inevitable fact that
these days will shortly expire.
Summertime fades into autumn as the eden-green leaves
turn into a picturesque foliage and in no time
stray leaves ride the breezy wind.
The cold descends and then the frost,
as we grow tired and gray.
Bitter winter depresses the mood as we wait
for our destined fate to unravel.
Trying not to watch the last sand pebbles in our
hourglasses fall even though we all know
it nears our time to go.
