Ocean Tides
We walk along the soft, moon-lit sand
catching up on each other’s lives.
Chatting about what has gone on since
we have last seen each other.
Bringing up every diminutive detail
we can think of.
Forgetting the past and
carelessly living in the now.
Ignoring all of our worries like
waves washing away all the seashells
and pebbles that fade into the deep.
Lost in the moment,
laughing with friends and
abandoning all our troubles and concerns.
