Street Lights
We just finished our steak dinner.
Mom gave us money for candy.
We run through the streets to the store.
The night is still young.
Looking at our options,
we didn’t know what to choose.
Twenty minutes until we return home.
The street lights just turned on.
Finally, we got chocolate.
The only candy Dad likes.
We gave it to him.
Because of everything he gave to us.
