Truth
Tell your kids to dream for big things,
So they can have all their dreams crushed,
When they learn that life isn’t all diamond rings,
But the truth will forever be hushed.
Never tell the truth,
Society won’t allow kids to dream in reality,
They say it’s all in the youth,
Don’t let them know that could amount to be nobody.
It’s for their own good,
They need their images of the world to be bright,
That they’ll still be happy even in adulthood,
And wouldn’t be in a battle with their mind, an endless fight.
They learn of the this false image,
And are overwhelmed with the pain,
You didn’t even let them have a scrimmage,
To what would soon attack their brain.
And now all these kids are broken,
They still don’t understand,
All these mean words in the world spoken,
Their happiness seeps into the quicksand.
