In the fifth grade
Kings Island was the place to hang
My friends and I were ready to invade
To celebrate Chad’s birthday with a bang

I wouldn’t wimp out
I’m going to get on these gargantuan rides
I didn’t want to lose my clout
But I’m more comfortable on the slides

In the past it has been a battle
And I’ve lost every time
I just hate how the rides always rattle
And I wish we didn’t have to come at nighttime

As we got closer to the park
My heart began to race
I would rather swim with sharks
I heard the tip of the Diamondback reaches to outer space

As we made are way through high arches
My stomach began to turn
Cause the first ride is gonna put me in a tailspin
My friend and I were told to sit at the stern

I prayed to the lord to protect me
As the front of the coaster reached the peak of the hill
I knew I had to ride a coaster someday
After all I might find a thrill

At the top
I knew that it was time for me to fly
The metal holding the our car went pop
And I was ready to wave my fears goodbye

We went on one ride after another
Feeling more confident with every twist
Maybe next week I’ll come back with my brother
This place is going to be missed

Ever since I was a little kid, I had been severly scard of roller coasters. This poem is about me overcoming my fears one days when I was around the age of 11. Enjoy!
