I am a Homing Pigeon

My goals are in front of me, far out of reach in the open sky.
Only I know my destination.
Determined– I persevere until I reach my future.
A message tied with twine to my leg.
It can only be opened once I reach my journey’s end
What is the message I carry?
It is one of hope.
My writing pushes me onward.
Delivering hand-written notes of joy as I travel.
But, I always remember where my home is.
And at the end of the day, I spread my wings and return to my nest.
