The Perfect Pair

Pushed against me lays the blue sock with the pastel yellow ducks, lost six months ago. On top of me smushes the hot pink sock from Taylor’s first birthday. Voices emerge and light enters the crowded space; Taylor’s hands grasp me, alongside my twin: a familiar neon green sock with pale purple stripes.
