Delicate swaying

grass and vines decay buildings

of abandoned towns.

Hot dirt and dry sand,

wooden saloons preserved

under clouds of silt.

Water glues crystals

of salt to marble columns,

stone faces submerged.

Forgotten places

doomed to lose old masters,

lost under earth’s grip.

The author's comments:

I always felt bad for abandoned towns and places that once held human life. The though of someones childhood home being rotten and overgrown always made me feel bitter sweet, so a series of haikus to express my feelings felt appropriate.

Wonderfully written...Each Haiku conveys your feeling really beautifully...
