There is no glory
There’s only broken bodies,
Dreams, hearts, hopes, and souls.

It's true! Often there are wars waged off the field of battle that they could apply their courage to without being killed.

Right, courage like that can be valued in so much more important places.

Exactly, this poem wasn't to diminish the heroics of soldiers in war, but that war itself is not heroic or anything. It's glorified so men join the army. I feel like their lives are cut short and the time they lost was wasted, when they could've been so much more than a soldier.

Ha ha, I love that comment! And the haiku, of course. It really captured the brokenness of war, the falsity of it. I'm proud of your excellent pacifism.

I think a lot of the guys who go off to war are really brave, but it's a pity their courage is used in such a way.

Hey thanks, :). I'm tired of seeing advertisements saying that sending young men off is full of glory. More like full of b.s.

‎"I’m learning how to drown out the constant noise that is such an inseparable part of my life. I don’t have to prove anything to anyone. I only have to follow my heart and concentrate on what I want to say to the world: I run my world." - Beyoncé

Brava! I love how you say there is no glory in war. Brava! Good haiku!
