The Desert

The sun rises up
heating all that is below,
lighting up the sky.
Powerful heat waves
scalding the sand along with
its mighty species.
It is heating up
I feel the warmth on my skin,
burning like a fire.
Summer here again,
walking the vast sea of sand,
but only a dream.

I wrote this based off of one of my visits to Egypt. I went into the desert with my friends and family in Jeeps and I fell in love with my suuroundings.
