Close your eyes, try to 

Listen, feel, experience. 

The smell of perfume 

Invades the air that you 

Breathe in, you can taste 

It on your tongue. The close heat  

Of people crowds you. 

A hush of silence  

Echoes throughout the large room, 

Waiting patiently  

We sit in our darkened seats 

As the curtains rise 

Papers shuffle and 

Instruments tune as the crowd 

Holds it’s breath. Their ex- 

Citement constricts in their chests, 

Foreshadowing the  

Long awaited performance. 

An explosion of 

Sound and color washes o- 

Ver the audience 

Smooth jazz flows from the 

Saxophone while the Drummer 

Keeps beat and rocks out. 

The Trumpets blare and  

The Trombones swing as the group 

Gives out one more BANG! 

The director cuts 

Them off, their last note ringing 

Pleasently throughout  

Silence echoes, then 

A round of applause for the  

Masterpiece displayed.
