Silent Suicide
She sees a sky that seems so near
Wanting to touch it but doesn't know where
It collides with the sea
But the sky seems so free
And she can't reach it from here
Her world had been dark
She wants to fly like the lark
She saw on her hedge
So she stands on the ledge
And will not miss her mark
This sea will free her from here
From emptiness and fear
The waves crash at her feet
The salt smells so sweet
She leaps, needing to disappear.
Air bursts from her chest
As the water begins to infest
She claws at the air
At all she hold dear
Pulled down by the sea's brutal unrest.
All else is now fading away
The waters demand that she pay
With a garbled scream for relief
She prays her death will be brief
Her eyes on the sky as it fades into grey.
