Deceit
Hey, here we are again,
At this familiar crossroads,
Where we took the turn to sin,
And watched the fun unfold.
Pain won’t tear us apart,
Hate will heal our hearts,
Death will make us strong,
And love is never wrong.
The wide road runs under our feet,
The narrow ‘cross our path,
But we won’t turn off, accept defeat,
So we choose to burn in wrath.
The tears were never real,
And there was no fear to feel,
The shriek of agony’s gone,
And love is never wrong.
We forsake the crossroads, run blindly on,
Can’t escape the inferno we flee for.
Shut our eyes to the dread of the ashy sun,
Close our ears to the horror in store.
