“She Is The Sea”
Pale sun setting over her
smooth blue skin.
She lays flat while the Earth’s children
dance on her back.
The tide
remains the same.
Never has she been able to see the sky
with her own blue eyes.
She thinks of the sky as a partner,
that she will never meet.
The tide
will never change.
She’s been abused
for thousands of years,
Yet she’s the only
true necessity.
The tide is in a rage.
She cries and cries
yet no one will ever know.
Her pain
is the only bridge.
The tide
remains the same.
