The Image of Love
Love is universal.
I haven't had the best of luck
And yes it sucks.
I have my family and friends to keep me straight,
Anything to keep me away from hate.
My younger self loved love,
She thought it was a feeling from above.
Like God when he sent Jesus,
He shared that he sees us and wanted to free us.
She was convinced it was all simple,
She thought love was holding hands,
She never knew the dangers a boy with dimples could bring,
I think now she understands.
Love gets confused in the mind of a child,
Because love wouldn’t lie like he did and it’s wild.
The thought of love turns my stomach,
The thought of love makes my heart warm,
The thought of love makes my hands sweaty,
The thought of love makes me giddy,
The thought of love makes my knees weak,
The thought of love fills me with anxiety,
The thought of love scares me.
It’s given me a tornado of emotions,
But isn't love supposed to be universal?
