Action without thought is empty. Thought without action is blind. <br /> – Kwame Nkrumah

If you'd only let go of your ego
That you show us time-to-time
If only you could apologise
That would be sublime
Even when I cover my ears
There's a path for sound to enter
And once again I hear you say that
I'm a curse. But you're the traitor
Imani
Tell me the sin I have commited
Because your words hit like a stone
What have I done to you
Imani?
You're the only one who omitted
our rules and you were gone
So tell me what I did
Imani?
Walking down the suburbs of Durban
Where we played our hide-and-seek
Listening to the hits of Keith Urban
And it just reminds me
That you're always welcome here
And I swear I am the same
'Cause you'll always be my cousin
With the very love, I'll call your name (I'll call your name)
Imani (Imani)
Tell me the sin I have commited
Because your words hit like a stone
What have I done to you
Imani?
You're the only one who omitted
our rules and you were gone
So tell me what I did
Imani?
None will ever change the way I feel
After all I'll handle this with ease
If you come back, both our wounds would heal
If only you could please
Imani (Imani)
Tell me the sin I have commited
Because your words hit like a stone
What have I done to you
Imani? (Imani)
You're the only one who omitted
our rules and you were gone
So tell me what did I do
Imani?
Tell me the sin I have commited
Because your words hit like a stone
What have I done to you
Imani?
You're the only one who omitted
our rules and you were gone
So tell me what did I do
Imani? (Imani)
Why did you say that Imani?

The author's comments:

To Imani, I've always loved you. Why did you let our stupid family's problem break our cousin-bond apart! You were like my sister. No one can take your place, Imani. You are always welcome home, as my cousin, as my best friend, as the Mom of my future niece. I'll always be the same Amara and nothing can change that.

This piece is based on Soledad, by the famous Irish band Westlife. Hope y'all would enjoy it!
