Song of the redeemed
I guess I’ve always been a dreamer
Been searching for something more
When my hope was quickly dying
As my tears fell to the floor
I didn’t believe there was magic in the world
I saw it in only shades of black-and-white
Didn’t even look for redemption anymore
‘Til I remembered something someone told me late at night
She said
‘Even when you’re out of tears
And there’s nothing left inside.
Even when you feel broken
When you can’t cry.
There is a reason for this day,
A reason for this life
If you just believe then you could fly’
I started seeing things I never saw before
The gorgeous color of the sky, a deep true blue
And so here I am, singing to you
See the leaves on the trees, birds in the sky
I’m telling you now, baby don’t you cry
I love that familiar scent
Of cedar and rain
How it felt to run around
And dance through the pain
Look at the shimmering sun,
The mysterious moon,
The many stars in the sky
Sunsets in mid-afternoon
Those warm July days
Those cold December nights
When the sun comes out
You can stop this fight
So please
Come join my song
The song of the redeemed
