Her and the Cigarettes
All those times that you would brush me off
And I would never really understand
Thinking bout all the times you held my hand
Back when I thought you were a better man
So now you’re calling you-and-me off,
While you’re saying that you still want to be friends
But sorry that’s not the way this story ends
You broke my heart so what’s left to defend
‘Cause you said you loved me
But never said I was the only one
Found out about her and the cigarettes
And now I’m kinda glad we’re done
I was so happy that I caught your eye
Now I know that I wasn’t the only one
You’ve left me with all these regrets
Wish you could see the damage you’ve done
Should have known from the beginning
But it still took me by surprise
Should have known when I looked into your eyes
That I shouldn’t have believed any of your lies
All the words you sang when you sung me to sleep
Always made my knees go weak
You held me and kissed me on the cheek
Then said sorry I couldn’t call you this week
Now I’m letting you go without a peep
I’m always trying to avoid a fight
While I know I’m crying myself to sleep tonight
Nothing you do now will make this right
Cause you said you loved me
But not that I was the only one
Found out about her and the cigarettes
And now I’m kinda glad we’re done
I was so happy that I’d caught your eye
Now I know that I wasn’t the only one
You’ve left me with all these regrets
Wish you could see the damage you’ve done
Should have known from the beginning
But it still took me by surprise
Should have known when I looked into your eyes
That I shouldn’t have believed any of your lies
